About the Government

The Village of Ashmore's municipal government is a Trustee-Village form of government. An elected Village President (mayor) and Board of Trustees hold open public meetings at least monthly to discuss and establish local laws, policies, and short- and long-term community planning. The President and six Trustees hold 4-year elected terms.

A full-time appointed Clerk directs day-to-day office operations. A full-time Superintedent / Water Operator directs the day-to-day street, park, property, water, and infrastructure operations.

Regular Board meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Municipal Office, located at 10 W Ashmore St. Special meetings and committee meetings are scheduled as needed. Residents are welcome to attend all public meetings and are encouraged to take an active role in community affairs.
