Community Events

Having fun, meeting your neighbors and making new friends is what living in the Village of Ashmore is all about. Throughout the year, there are a variety of activities for all our citizens to enjoy, some are organized by the Village of Ashmore and other are organized privately or through clubs.

Check back often and/or watch our Facebook page as we continually post about upcoming events and opportunities.

Here are a few of the events Ashmore hosts throughout the year:

Pickleball for Fun - individuals organize pickleball games every week in the Community Center (not affiliated with the Village or a Rec Department). Contact the curator (below) for dates, times, and additional information.

Live Music - Join the Tom Campbell Band & Friends at the Community Center on the third Saturday of each month for laid-back live country music and line dancing. No cover charge, but donations welcome.

Spring Craft & Vendor Market - watch the calendar in May for a craft and vendor market inside the community center. Find collectibles, hand crafted goodies, and all kinds of items you can't live without in a one-stop hometown shopping spree.

Spring Cleaning Dumpster Day - watch the calendar in May to see when a free dumpster will be available for anyone who lives in the 61912 zip code. The dumpster will be available on the southeast corner of Illinois & Linden Streets, across from the Fire Hall.

Tasty Tuesdays - every Tuesday evening in summer at the Village Park, 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Click here to see a listing of dates, times, and vendors.

Recycle Day - watch the calendar in September for the annual Recycle Day at the Village Park, free for anyone who lives in the 61912 zip code. Includes regular dumpsters in addition to electronics recycling, tire recycling, pharmaceutical dropoff, and a recycle trailer for cans, glass, plastic, paper, and cardboard. (Click here for details.)

Ashmore Harvest Festival - what started as a 1-day ice cream social in 1979 turned into "Ashmore Days" in the 1980's, which evolved  further into "Ashmore Ag Days" in the 2010's. The pandemic put this Ashmore tradition on hold for a few years, but some residents decided in 2024 that it needs to come back. Join us in October for the first-ever Harvest Festival, carrying on many of the traditions that have spanned that last four decades. (Click here for details.)

Winter Craft & Vendor Market - just like the Spring Market but just in time for the holidays. Watch the calendar in November for details.
